General Facts:

bETON bARRAGe is a project of Tirdad of the label Mechanoise Labs from France. Tirdad is also active in Stelladrine, Asphalt Leash and Seda E Marg. This is bETOn bARRAGe's third album and it is limited to only a hundred CD-r copies with sandpaper sleeves.

Review:

bETON bARRAGe assault us with fourteen tracks of severe obtuse noise. The music feels more high-resolute than the Stelladrine album by the same composer , yet both projects reside within the harsh Noise genre. Very suitably, the frontcover of this release is made of sandpaper. Another differance between the two projects may be that bETOn bARRAGe does not utilise rhythms as much as Stelladrine does.

The sound of bETON bARRAGe is that of razor-sharp noise and vibrant drones, piercing ones eardrums while sending out utter sonic chaos. Along with this, we get highly suggestive songtitles like Its Heart Pump Tar or Urine to put things in the right  perspective. No harmonies are present, nor are much vocal parts lest for some sampled speech under Visceras screeching sound waves.

I do prefer the latest Stelladrine album before this. Not that it is bad but I found this album to be more monotonous than the more varied sound of Le Rire des Etoiles. I do also lack some more andrenaline in the music. On the contrary, Viscera also has some very interesting, unpredictable sonic ingredients, generated by everything from forks and bottles to acoustic guitars. Especially Parasite present some very sick, palpatating sounds to indulge in. Surely it is my favourite track on this album. Check this put if you are into Harsh Noise with a lot of focus on stirring and obtuse sounds .
