General facts:

Amon is a Dark Ambient outlet by an Italian guy named Andrea Marutti. Aura was first released by Drone Records in January 1998 on clear vinyl with hand painted covers in green and black, limited to 250 copies. A re-release then came in April 2002 in the shape of 300 multicoloured vinyls with printed covers, also released by Drone Records.

Review:

Listening to Aura feels akin to standing in a 50 miles long tunnel with naught but pitch-black darkness and rumbling dark sounds ahead. Here we are talking pure blackness, free from melodies or percussion, just an enthralling flow of obscurity which seems to carry the echoes of aeons past into the mind of the receptive listener. This is music to dream to, it is very essence; a grandiose feeling of mysticism which sends the mind on a journey to explore that which is hidden and arcane. Perfect to listen to during the late hours when distracting factors are few and the music may join forces with the night itself.

Distant echoes from the primeval catacombs of the world. This is yet another high-class piece in the grand atmospheric mosaic of Drone Records. Highly recommended to those who favour ancient-sounding Dark Ambient.
